5-layered hand cut collage made up of vintage National Geographic magazines (1955, 1966, 1974). I love this piece for how seamless the colors and shapes are even though the elements were found in different magazines. It portrays an army of woman rocking converse and submachine guns to protect the animals and ecosystem of the Savanna. This piece was made to keep relevant the fact that there are thousands of poachers who travel to the savannas and illegally hunt animals for traditional medicine, folk remedies, and as a status symbol. Please help me bring awareness to this issue so we could live in a world with rhinos, tigers, lions, elephants, zebras, and all the other beautiful animals that roam the savannas.
